ecards & online safety

About ecard Fraud:

It's quite unfortunate, but at times the public is targeted by individuals who commit unlawful, or malevolent acts, online. Two common examples of this sort of behavior are when criminals:

  1. Send an email, posing as a legitimate company, to an unsuspecting person - with the intention of trying to collect their personal information (name, social security number, bank account number) for exploitation
  2. Send an email, posing as a legitimate company, to an unsuspecting person - with the intention of spreading an electronic bug, virus, trojan or the like

To understand more about email fraud, search for and read about Phishing, Spoofing, Email Fraud, and Hoax Emails.
